Special talk at the University Innovation Summit 2026

On 23 September 2026, I gave a special talk at the University Innovation Summit (UIS 2026), hosted at Zewail City of Science and Technology in 6th of October City, Egypt.

The summit brought together 2,000+ participants and 100+ youth-led, research-backed projects across national technology clusters supported by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), with exhibitions, judging, panels, and an awards ceremony shaping Egypt’s innovation economy.

My session — “Research in the Age of Capable AI” — was part of the afternoon Special Talks slot on the summit agenda. I walked through how capable AI is reshaping research writing, peer review, funding, and PhD practice, and closed with a practical walk-away toolkit: own the question, verify everything, use AI as a critic not a ghostwriter, disclose and document, protect your ideas and data, and build proof beyond papers.
